Berkeley, CA (March 3, 2011) The NorCal League started its 2011 season with a ground breaking weekend. Two high school races were held simultaneously in Granite Bay (near Folsom) and East Garrison (near Marina) as a prologue before the full-points races gets underway, starting March 13th, back at Granite Bay.
Riders vied for honors of the day in addition to a point bonus for the 2011 series, as well as coveted start line call-ups at the March 13th race. 257 and 183 racers raced at the Granite Bay and East Garrison races respectively. After many weeks of rain and even a dusting of snow, the weekend gave way to brisk but sunny weather conditions – perfect for racing.

NorCal League Director, Vanessa Hauswald, commented “We are highly grateful for the many new volunteers and supporters that contributed to these two events. Today was more than a great day of racing, what we learned today will help us split the League in 2012 into two sections, should that be necessary.”
